The Fish Map App is an innovative program in Alaska designed to add missing information to the list of important fish habitats by logging and monitoring migratory fish populations. This app is powered by Indigenous Sentinels Network data collection software. The app allows users, including the general public, to document fish habitats and submit their observations directly from their smartphones. Key partners include the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, the Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Northern Latitudes Partnership. The initiative aims to provide remote Indigenous communities with the tools, support, and training for effective ecological and environmental monitoring, enhancing both scientific research and local knowledge integration.
